Huawei to start manufacturing smartphones in India from next month       Huawei  has announced that it will start to manufacture smartphones in India in collaboration with Flex starting next month. Reaffirming its commitment to the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, starting from the first week of October, the Flex manufacturing plant in Chennai will manufacture one of the Honor smartphones models. These made-in-India devices will hit Indian market as early as next month. The manufacturing plant will have the capacity to make three million units by the end of 2017. A self-defence group says Boko Haram insurgents have attacked a village in northeast Nigeria and beheaded the local chief and his son. Abbas Gavi of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria said the Islamic extremists came to the village of Tallari before dawn Monday. He says they slit the throat of village chief Ba' Lawan and his son, then set their home and others on fire. Then they opened fire on fleeing villagers, killing two people and injuring others. Tallari is near Chibok, the town from which the extremists kidnapped nearly 300 schoolgirls in April 2014. Dozens escaped on their own but 217girls remain missing. Boko Haram has said it will swap the girls for detained extremists but the government says negotiations have faltered as the group suffers a leadership struggle.

SAMSUNG WOES BIGGER THAN NOTE 7 CRISIS Samsung’s Note 7 recall is a giant, expensive mess. The cost of the recall will reach over $1 billion , and a further $5 billion  could be lost. But Samsung has $23 billion in cash . NASA Analysis finds August 2016 another record month      August 2016 was the warmest August in 136 years of modern record-keeping, according to a monthly analysis of global temperatures by scientists at NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) in New York. Although the seasonal temperature cycle typically peaks in July, August 2016 wound up tied with July 2016 for the warmest month ever recorded. August 2016's temperature was 0.16 degrees Celsius warmer than the previous warmest August in 2014. Last month also was 0.98 degrees Celsius warmer than the mean August temperature from 1951-1980.
